Realteam Racing close to the podium at the 6 Hours of the Slovakia Ring

Realteam Racing finished the 6 Hours of the Slovakia Ring in fifth position overall. David Droux performed the best lap time of the race (1: 56.296).

This weekend was the third race of the Ultimate Cup Series season. After two four-hour races, the third round lasted six hours for the Proto category. In exceptional format, exceptional crew for the Swiss Team who was joined this weekend by David Droux, currently entered in European Le Mans Series.

After good free practice sessions on this technical track, Realteam Racing ranked fifth in qualifying session.

Starting on the third row of the starting grid, David Droux was the first to start on the track. After a a strong hour of racing, Sébastien Page and then Esteban Garcia took the wheel of the car for their stints of nearly two hours each. David Droux came back on track for the last hour. He performed the best lap time of the race (1:56.296).

Despite serious work by the crew and the technical support of team GRAFF, technical incidents in qualifying session and then in the race did not allowed to have sufficient regularity to finish on the podium.

After Slovakia, Realteam Racing will fly to Italy for the fourth round of the Ultimate Cup Series at the Mugello circuit on June 29th.

“It was a great experience to join the Team for the UCS to help Sebastian and Esteban for this 6-hour race in Slovakia. The race was rather difficult for us but we still managed to lead the race during the first hour and perform the best lap time in the race which shows our good performance. This 5th position brings some points to Esteban and Sébastien for the rest of the championship.” – David Droux
