Realteam Racing continued its good form by taking the second place on the podium at the Bahrain International Circuit. Esteban Garcia's Swiss team was able to adapt by maintaining its position at the front throughout the 6-hour race.

The trio of drivers composed of Esteban Garcia, Loïc Duval and Norman Nato, put in another first class performance this weekend in Bahrain as they finished on the podium and in second place in the Pro-Am category, although a close fight for victory was the main theme of the race.

The team was on a roll after its podium finish at Le Mans and showed confidence from the very first laps of the Bahrain track. Their times were at the top of the timesheets in free practice, but more importantly, they achieved pole position in Pro-Am.

With his confidence boosted by these great performances on the track, Loïc Duval took the start of the 6 hours race. Hanging in second place for almost half the race, the stints of the three drivers followed each other without fail, producing some great driving and keeping his chances of victory alive until the chequered flag.

"We had good performance results, with the best qualifying in the Pro/Am class. We had a good race start despite the degradation of the tyres on the track, which made double stints more complicated" Loïc Duval emphasized.

"Personally, I quickly felt at ease on the track. I had the opportunity to train on the simulator and found similar sensations on track, which was positive. My team-mates did a great job, they drove well, despite the overwhelming heat. This had an impact on the degradation of the tyres, but we managed to deal with it well," Esteban Garcia said.

In the game of staggered pit stops, the prototype of the team of driver-boss Esteban Garcia took the lead at the end of the fourth hour. The Swiss team unfolded their strategy and dived in the traffic on track, but did not make any mistake as they managed to secure a great second spot on the podium, which will be essential to their quest for the title in the LMP2 Pro-Am category.

The podium is keeping the team's chances of the LMP2 Pro-Am title alive, as the positions are very close between the three contenders in the overall team standings. With only 10 points separating the leader from Realteam Racing, the 8 Hours of Bahrain will decide who takes the trophy—as of new, anything is still possible.

"This season, our strength is our stability. We have scored points in every race, we are doing it again in Bahrain. If we win the next race, that means we win the championship. We know where we can improve and we are working on it, anything can happen in 8 hours, this is the finishing line and we will fight." Norman Nato concluded.
